photos from the munch museum

At Oslo's museum of works by Edvard Munch

in the floor dedicated to his vibrant, haunting, ambiguous but powerful contemplations of love, life, and loss,

I pieced together a story about a couple....

who went on adventures together

and fell in love

and dreamed of life

and of growing old together.

but life was not a dream

and they struggled

and they argued

and they hurt each other.

and, unable to find their way, they parted.

and tried to make sense of what had happened.

the end

I think you’d like Norway. It’s beautiful. And, personal resonances aside, the Munch museum was outstanding.

I’m going to Bergen next, on that magnificent scenic train over the roof of the world, to hike and to heal in the fjords.

I hope you are well, I still think of you often.

“What is art? Art grows from joy and sorrow. But mostly from sorrow. It grows from human lives.” ~Edvard Munch
